Perth Amboy is a destination for fitness. Millions have been invested in restoration and enhancements to the waterfront where you will find many people exercising. There is a mile long Waterfront Walk from the end of Second St, along Sadowski Parkway to the end of Water St. Along the walk you will find new exercise stations. It is a great place to workout. You can also walk along the Marina on Front St. In addition to walking, running and biking along the waterfront, Perth Amboy has great sailing, kayaking and gardening. There are also six new public tennis courts and three brand new half basketball courts on the waterfront. There is also great fishing at the marina and piers along the waterfront.
Perth Amboy also has the Raritan Bay YMCA with a new state of the art facility. The Y has excellent group fitness classes including Les Mils Zumba, Body Pump, Body Combat and Body Flow. They also have an indoor track and swimming pools, saunas and cardio equipment, and weight rooms.
The Perth Amboy Department of Recreation offers excellent fitness classes and activities to energize the whole family. They offer kayaking, sailing, baseball, soccer, tennis, karate, zumba and many other sports and activities.
Yoga is growing in Perth Amboy with private instructors, classes at the YMCA and the new Balance yoga studio.
The Perth Amboy Cardinals play in the NJ Amateur Baseball League. The games are held in Rudyk Park.
The Dominican Softball League has games in Washington Park.
Perth Amboy Soccer Club has a youth league playing at Dalton Fields.
