Perth Amboy Earth Day 2019

April 22, 2019 is the 48th anniversary of Earth Day! On this day people engage in social and political action that draws attention to the environment. The City of Perth Amboy is hosting an Earth Day Community Clean Up on Monday April 22 from 4-6pm at Patten Park, Reade St and Dorsey Street. Also there will be a mini library installation at Patten Park that will offer people free books to read while they enjoy the outdoors. There will also be a cooking oil recycling presentation and free cooking oil recycling containers. Earth Day entertainment will be provided by Guitar Bob. In addition to Earth Day events, the City of Perth Amboy has hosted an expanded Earth Month calendar of events. These included giving away free sustainable shopping bags at Shop Rite, clean up along the waterfront, Green Business Recognition, an upcoming Adopt a Park event and Water Bottle Recycled Art Unveiling on Wednesday April 24th at Washington Park from 4-6pm, a recycling education event on April 27th at the YMCA from 11am-2pm and a paper shred event at St. John Paul II Church on Sunday April 28th from 10:30am-1:30pm. Perth Amboy organizations involved in Earth Day events include the Girl Scouts, AARP, Shop Rite, Kiwanis, PARTNER, and the Perth Amboy Green Team among others.
