Also check out the Ferry Slip Museum and the food truck\, ice cream parlor & bars and restaurants along the Marina. \nLive at the Ferry Slip Original Music Series is hosted by Perth Amboy Artworks in partnership with the Historic City of Perth Amboy Ferry Slip Museum and The City of Perth Amboy Honorable Mayor Wilda Diaz. In response to heightened violence and hostility during the 1940’s through the 1970’s\, members of the branch joined forces with students and civil rights/labor activists from Carteret\, Perth Amboy\, Sayreville\, South Amboy\, and Woodbridge Township to conduct mass demonstrations such as boycotts\, walkouts\, sit-ins\, protest marches\, and picket lines. NAACP Perth Amboy is working to reclaim the legacy and continue the fight!

DESCRIPTION:On Aug. 21\, 2017\, the Great American Total Solar Eclipse will occur\, where part of the United States will be able to see the sun disappear behind the moon\, and day will turn into night\, and the temperature will drop. The event will start around 1:13pm and reach its climax at 2:48pm. NJ will only be able to see a partial eclipse. The eclipse will end at 4pm. \nTo prepare for the eclipse\, visit the Perth Amboy Public Library.  They have free eclipse glasses and other eclipse resources to help you to enjoy the partial solar eclipse which will be visible in New Jersey. Wear your glasses the whole time between 1 and 4pm if you are looking at the eclipse.  Space.com also has a guide to the 2017 total solar eclipse.
