Perth Amboy BID presents 2nd Xtreme Jeep Show with help from Perth Amboy Jeep Club

A convoy of 400 Jeeps from 30 Jeep Clubs is expected to arrive in the City by the Bay this Saturday.

The Perth Amboy Business Improvement District (BID) is presenting the Second Xtreme Jeep Show with help from the Perth Amboy Jeep Club.  A convoy of 400 Xtreme Jeeps are “gleaming” thru Perth Amboy’s business district before going to City Hall Circle for a show that begins at noon on Saturday, July 22.  The event is family friendly with nonstop music, food trucks and local restaurants vending, Jeep-gear vendors and face painting for children. Pictured are Jeanette Rios, a BID board member, and Perth Amboy Jeep Club President Benito Lopez.  Jeanette and Benito joined forces to bring 30 Jeep Clubs from across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania to bring and present their modified and personalized “Xtreme Jeeps” to the City. It is one of largest Jeep exhibitions in the region. Attendees can view vehicles, speak with owners and take photos with these “macho machines.”

Four hundred “Xtreme Jeep” vehicles will be on display in Perth Amboy’s City Hall Circle beginning at noon and continuing to 5 PM.  The event is free, and will feature an outdoor exhibition of gleaming, customized and fully-equipped “Xtreme Jeeps” in the following models: CJ5, CJ7, TJ, YJ, JK2, JK4, Cherokee, and Willie as well as four-wheel drive Suzuki vehicles. Jeeps will be parked in City Hall Circle, 260 High Street, and municipal parking is available within walking distance of the exhibit.

Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz will present the Xtreme Jeep Show’s top award, known as the “King of Kings Champion” trophy. The honor is awarded to the most amazing Jeep selected by the judges. They will also review all Jeep or Suzuki vehicles at the show, and Mayor Diaz is presenting the first-, second- and third-place trophies to the most Xtreme models in each category.

The Xtreme Jeep Show is co-sponsored by the City of Perth Amboy, the Recreation Department, the All Stars Academy and the Perth Amboy Jeep Club. Jeep owners can still register their vehicles up to 11 AM on July 22 for a registration fee of $20.00. For more information, visit Mayor Diaz’s Facebook, Perth Amboy BID’s Facebook, Perth Amboy Jeep Club’s Facebook, or call 732.442.6421.
