Urban Leadership Charter School Launches New Leadership Skills Program

This September, the students at the Academy for Urban Leadership Charter School will be participating in a new program designed to build leadership skills. The new program called Pathways to Leadership, founded by the Academy’s Dr. Mario C. Barbiere, is innovative because it builds programming around an assessment of each students learning style and multiple intelligence.

Teachers and staff will engage AUL students grades 8-12 in learning sessions called clusters.  The students will participate in STEAM (science, technology, engineering and math) based Bridge Building, Lego Engineering, Growth Mindset Principles, 21st Century Skills, and varied areas of technology, as well as an Entrepreneurs Symposium. 

Leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, problem solving, writing, research and language development are just a few of the skills the students will be applying in the clusters.
