Arrest of the Royal Governor William Franklin in Perth Amboy NJ

William Franklin was the last Royal Governor of New Jersey who lived in the Proprietary House on Kearny Ave in Perth Amboy. He was a British Loyalist during the American Revolution and was arrested on the steps of Proprietary House in June 1776 by American Patriot forces for being a traitor. He was the son of Benjamin Franklin. 

The dramatic re-enactment performance of the arrest of the Royal Governor will occur on Sunday June 25th at 1pm and 3:30pm at Proprietary House, 149 Kearny Ave., Perth Amboy, NJ.   There will be a Revolutionary War musket demonstration. Light refreshments will be served in the Proprietary House colonial wine cellar and you can shop in the gift shop.
