Tuesday June 2nd 2026 is primary election day In Perth Amboy. Six Democrats are running for three City Council seats. Milady Tejeda, Kenneth Puccio and Hailey Cruz Batista are the incumbent council members running as a slate. They are being challenged in the June Democratic primary by the slate of Kenneth Gonzalez, Junior Iglesia, and Lisa Nanton.

It will be interesting to see the election outcome as there is no longer the line that used to give party endorsed candidates an advantage. Also if slates are still relevant. And it will be interesting to see the vote by mail operations and how they impact the election. Get out the vote efforts for vote by mail exist. Voting by mail is very easy and accessible that’s why many people use it now. In past Perth Amboy elections, vote by mail has had an impact on election victories.
