The Barge is a beloved seafood and steak restaurant and cocktail lounge in Perth Amboy NJ on the waterfront. They turn 100 this year having opened in 1925. The Barge is a hangout for locals and a dining destination for visitors to the waterfront district. They have an old school retro vibe and are known for their broiled and fried seafood dishes, homemade sangria, delicious cole slaw and tarter sauce, nautical art including a mural by Thomas Ward, nautical cocktail lounge, waterfront views, outdoor dining and private party space upstairs. They survived Superstorm Sandy and COVID, and continue to draw diners year round. It’s a great place to eat before or after a concert in Bayview Park or for having a special family meal.
