To celebrate Chef Slavko’s Food Truck’s official opening day of the season, I went down to visit him and wish him well and get a few of his famous chili dogs, made with homemade chili.  Chef Slavko, the former Chef at the Raritan Yacht Club, also serves some of the best crab cakes in New Jersey,  served on a roll with homemade tarter sauce.  All of his menu items are excellent, from the grilled chicken sandwich with portabello mushrooms, onions and cheese to the 1/2 lb. angus burgers to the fish basket with fries. Don’t forget the kielbasa sandwich, the sliced steak sandwich or the sausage sandwich!  He says there will also be daily specials. The food truck is located on the water at the Perth Amboy Marina, 260 Front St.  He opens at noon and has a covered seating area where you can enjoy your lunch. You can also walk across the street to the base of Bayview Park and eat at one of the brand new picnic tables along the marina drive.
