On March 31, 1870 vote, Thomas Mundy Peterson’s cast the first vote by an African-American after the passage of the US Constitution’s 15th Amendment. He lived in and voted in Perth Amboy. This year Gordon Bond, Historian, will discuss Peterson’s former home on Commerce Street and how the property may be a source of artifacts from Peterson and his family. This is a free event.
