Mayor Diaz says she wants everyone in Perth Amboy to get tested for coronavirus.

Mayor Wilda Diaz

In an address to the City on May 18th, Mayor Diaz announced that she would like every resident in the City of Perth Amboy to get tested, since it is the best way to control the spread of COVID-19. If you find out you have coronavirus, you can quarantine yourself so the you can help stop the spread. The City of Perth Amboy has partnered with Jewish Renaissance Medical Center (JRMC) to offer testing to Perth Amboy residents. Testing is available to all city residents with or without symptoms. You must be pre-registered for testing. Testing will be held May 21 & May 27 at the Raritan Bay Area YMCA at 357 New Brunswick Ave, Perth Amboy NJ. Testing is available at no out of pocket expense and patients need to pre-register in advance for a scheduled appointment. Existing JRMC patients can email ctest@jrmc.us or call 732-376-6632. New patients complete registration at www.jrmc.us. JRMC provides care for all regardless of income or immigration status.

In addition to JRMC, salvia based testing is also available through Middlesex County. Locations include a walk up clinic in New Brunswick and a Drive thru in Edison and South Brunswick. You must be 18 years old and have proof of Middlesex County residency. All COVID-19 testing performed at these sites are free for Middlesex County residents but require an appointment. Residents wishing to make an appointment can go to  Middlesexcountynj.gov/COVID19testing to register and receive a time to report to the testing site. Dates are posted on the website.
