You can visit the Historic Proprietary House now open every Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 PM. Admission is Adults $5; Students $2; Kids 12 & under free. Guided history tours of the residence are at 1 PM, 2PM, and 3 PM. The colonial tea room has tea and baked goods and is by reservation only – $15/person – Includes Tea & Tour. Reservations can be made by leaving a voicemail at the museum phone number. 732-826-5527. Proprietary House in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, United States, is the only proprietary governor’s mansion of the original Thirteen Colonies still standing. The home was occupied temporarily, 1774 to 1776, by the Royal Governor of New Jersey, William Franklin, the son of Benjamin Franklin.
